Check out the wifi-radio.biz update !

2 06 2008

If you have visited wifi-radio.biz portal this week-end, you may have seen some new stuff showing up.
Let me describe more precisely what was fixed, improved or added.

multi languages interfaces

  • More Languages:

The interface is now available in Spanish, German and Italian; this way, wifi-radio.biz will be much more friendly with our North American and European users.

  • Remove the added contents:

This is a direct outcome of interactions with our active customers (through support requests, comments of this blog or discussions on the forum).

Users asked us to add a tool to delete the contents added manually to their selections from the left panel of wifi-radio.biz interface.

Therefore, by clicking on the cross symbol, you will delete these contents.

  • A new interface dedicated to Partners:

As we have some more and more frequent demands from content providers to add their channels or podcasts to our offer, we designed a online form to facilitate their referencing in our databases.

This is also part of our strategy to develop more often partnerships with radio stations and other content providers to promote both their channels and our solution.

  • The E-store is now live:

Available directly from wifi-radio.biz menu, you have now the opportunity to buy the Phoenix Wi-Fi radio from the web right here.

Hope all these changes will improve your wifi-radio.biz experience!

Very happy to see that the Phoenix is being so well supported by Com One. Thank you for these useful improvements. Is there any word yet on why the ABC Australia (non-MP3) and Radio New Zealand streams are so problematical and whether this will soon be addressed? Many thanks for any information you can share.

Hi John, thanks for your comment.

ABC australia stations are still under investigation, it will be solved for the next firmware release (late june), for our tech team is working on the new audio framework for the Phoenix devices.

Do you have a list of features planned for this upcoming release? Do you have a site where users can go to request new features?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

the scope of this new firmware is not finalized yet but the major improvements will be in audio format support domain.

I will post on this subject soon.

Regards.

Baptiste:

In the context of your coming firmware upgrade, please know that there is an anomaly with the RTE Radio 1 stream that causes the Phoenix to lock up after about 10 minutes and then reset itself. I suspect this has something to do with the buffer filling up, but your technicians would know better. This occurs on both of Phoenix radios, so it’s probably not a problem with the radio itself. (That’s right, I like the product so much I secured a second unit.)
